What is STS-135?
STS-135 or 5F-2NE1 is a research chemical of the Cannabinoid family. Having chemical similarities to AM-1248, 2NE1, AKB-48, and AB-001, it would seem that the in vitro (outside living organism) properties of STS-135 would be of a full agonist to the CB1 and CB2 cannabinoid receptor. Chemically speaking STS-135 is similar to AM-2201 in that it shares the fluoropentylindole structure and also a group called adamantylcarboxamide.

This particular research compound contains the fluoropentylindole structure similar to AM-2201 as well as featuring an adamantyl carboxamide group. Known in short as STS-135 its full IUPAC name is 1- (5- fluoropentyl)-N-tricyclo[3.3.1.13, 7]dec-1-yl-1H-indole-3-carboxamide.

What is STS-135 used for?

STS-135 can be used to further research the in vitro efficacy ithas upon the cannabinoid receptors. Due to its purposed non-selectivity it maybe useful for researchers to use STS-135 upon both cannabinoid receptors. This could be done by applying STS-135 to a synthetic membrane infused with CB1 and CB2 receptors to measure the affinity and any other parameters of interest.

STS-135 may be used by chemical catalogue companies to analyse it using NMR, GC/MS, FTIR or HPLC. This analysis can be used by toxicology and forensic scientists as a reference for comparison. Chemists may also use STS-135 as primary reagent for their specific studies.
